FALA's NHS is committed to providing the local community with student lead service projects on a yearly basis. NHS works hard to incorporate FALA's habits of heart and mind (connection and collaboration, common good, investment, critical inquiry, and creativity) into our work. Each year the following events are organized and run by NHS students. Students participate in a variety of events which include supporting girls education, raising money for local charities, cleaning up Flagstaff, and volunteering for local non profit organizations.

FALA's annual ONE performance is meant to raise awareness about girls education as well as fund raise to send Naume, the young girl we are sponsoring, to school in Africa. In addition to our annual performance, there are several other events to raise awareness about girls education and to raise money for Naume put together by FALA's National Art Honors Society in which many NHS students volunteer for. These events change every year and generally consist of the raffling of art, movie tickets, etc as well as face painting for anyone who wishes to attend the event.
Run Flagstaff
Each year FALA NHS gathers students from FALA to volunteer in the annual Halloween race put together by Run Flagstaff. Volunteers dress up as zombies in attempt to scare oncoming runners.
Empty Bowls
FALA has been performing in the square each Spring for the past 15 years while selling bowls from local artists to raise money for local food banks and charities. Ice cream is also traditionally sold at this event. The event also focuses on raising awareness about hunger in the Flagstaff community.
Freemont Street Clean-up
FALA NHS has adopted the Freemont street which grants NHS the responsibility to cleaning the street. Students gather 3 times each calendar year to clean the street.
